Directions The Library is located approximately 1/2 mile from Route 6. Turn off Route 6 onto Main Street at the traffic light. Follow Main Street through the center of the village past the Town Hall and the shops. The Library is on the left with parking adjacent to the building and also in an overflow lot beyond the building off Howland Lane. There is reserved handicapped parking and wheelchair access through the Howland Lane garden entrance.

Info on Computer Use at the Library  The Library provides wireless access through an open network. The Library also has 10 computers for public use in the adult area, 4 laptops children can use under the supervision of our Youth Services Librarian or a parent, and two computers in the Teen Room reserved for use by teenagers.
   All computers have high-speed internet access. Patrons may sign up in person or by telephone (508-349-0310)
for 30-minute time slots on five of the internet computers in the adult area. You can sign up one day in advance. The other five computers have time limits of 15 minutes and patrons wait their turn for these computers; there is no sign up. Patrons needing longer than 30 minutes for needs other than general email can make special arrangements with the Library Director.
   Eight of the computers are attached to a black and white laser printer and an inkjet color printer. Printing charges are 10 cents per page. Two 15 minute express laptops are not networked to a printer.

    There are also three computers that are used for CLAMS catalog searching only.

   Library Journal's new national rating of 7,115 public libraries, the LJ Index of Public Library Service, identifies 256 "star" libraries, and the Wellfleet Public Library is one of them. The top libraries in each group get five, four, or three Michelin guide-like stars. Wellfleet has earned the top honor of five stars.

     Lawrence Marschall will speak about his forthcoming book Galileo's New Universe: The Revolution in Our Understanding of the Cosmos. Marschall is the W.K.T. Sahm Professor of Physics at Gettysburg College. Tuesday, June 30, 8pm.
    Making Music from Thin Air – Original Songs, Improvisations, Jazz and Blues. Join Fred McGee for an eclectic piano and vocal concert that will also explore how music gets made, from first improvisation to final arrangement. Wednesday, July 15, 8pm.

     **talkingtogether Returns!** presents Peter Diamond speaking on Social Security. Diamond is an economist known for his analysis of U.S. Social Security poliocy. He is on the faculty of the MIT Department of Economics.

     THE FRIENDS OF THE WELLFLEET LIBRARIES present their 2009 Distinguished Speaker, Steven Pinker. Steven Pinker is Harvard College Professor and Johnstone Family Professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University. Until 2003, he taught in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. He conducts research on languauge and cognition, writes for publications such as the New York Times, Time, and The New Republic, and is the author of seven books, including The Language Instinct, How the Mind Works, Words and Rules, The Blank Slate, and most recently, The Stuff of Thought: Language as a Window into Human Nature.  Thursday, August 20, 8pm. Tickets will be available at the library starting July 6.
