Welcome to our 6th annual Wellfleet Art Exhibit.

This year our much loved exhibit celebrating Wellfleet artists is not hanging in the Meeting Room.
While the library continues to operate via curbside service for materials, the building sadly remains closed to the public. So as with the “Isolation: Inspiration” exhibit launched in May of 2020, we are presenting artist work virtually. With the crucial limitations of wall space lifted, we opened the exhibit to any artist wishing to include one piece. As such, the title of Wellfleet Artists Exhibit, has been replaced with Wellfleet Art Exhibit.

The response has been wonderful. Rich and varied work of photographers, painters, printmakers, ceramists, watercolorists, collagists, fiber artists, mixed-media artists, and installation artists fill our virtual halls. This powerful body of work is well worth looking at and thinking about. A diverse array, it is a reflection of the many skilled and creative artists connected to Wellfleet. Many pieces honor the beauty of the outer Cape— our shared landscape that we are so fortunate to be part of. Many of the works are representative of the ways artists present abstract work, portraits, mixed media, and 3-D work. This exhibit help us understand how artists are processing the uncharted landscape of our world today. It is a clear reminder of the importance of our community, near and far.

It is an honor for the library to host this annual event. Even with all of the restrictions in place this year, the response has been generous and insightful. It is one more way that the library can remain “open” for everyone during these difficult times.

We extend our deep gratitude to each artist who contributed to this 6th annual Wellfleet Art Exhibit. Very well wishes to each of you, and sincere hopes that we will all gather in person at our 7th annual Wellfleet Art Exhibit in the library meeting room this time next year.
